Imitating the
Mystery we celebrate……
Dear
Sisters and Brothers,
Saint Peter and
But the Apostle, moved and
motivated by the grace of the Holy Spirit, felt the irresistible need to
accomplish two essential tasks. First, to help people hear the Lord asking, “Who
do you say that I am?” And second, to help them answer that question with
the faith of Peter himself: “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God!”
And, dear friends, this work continues! Thus the Successor of St. Peter has
asked us to turn our attention in a special way to the person and ministry of
St. Paul for the next 12 months; to contemplate his love for Jesus, for the
Scriptures, for the Eucharist, for his brothers and sisters; and to learn to
emulate his glorious example that in some small way we too may be known as men
and women (no matter how young or how old!) who “handed on to others what we
ourselves received.” Can and will this be difficult at times? Yes.
Will we face hardship, ridicule, and rejection? Probably.
Will it ultimately be worth it when we see the Lamb of God seated at the right
hand of the Father. ABSOLUTELY.
So like blessed Paul, let us compete well, let us finish the race, let us keep the faith…for the crown of righteousness awaits
all those who do! St. Peter and

Theology on Tap – Attention all 20 &
30somethings! Mark your calendars for Thursday, July 3 at 7pm! The first
session of Theology on Tap was an awesome experience of what St. Ambrose called
“faith seeking understanding.” Lots of
questions were raised, and a lively, passionate discussion about faith and God
unfolded in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. Join us on July 3 at Jeremiah’s
(upstairs at the Bullfrog Brewery) for installment two. This month’s topic:
The Meaning of Human Suffering. Bring your faith, and bring a friend. {Check
